Home / News / Industry News / National standards for charging new energy vehicles will be released: charging piles will be standardized and charging outlets will be unified.
In fact, domestically produced electric vehicles have largely reached a consensus on charging standards. However, imported brands like Tesla, due to their different standards, have yet to achieve compatibility with public charging stations. Since entering China, Tesla has insisted on developing its own charging piles. Because these use the US standard, their interfaces are inconsistent with other brands, making them incompatible with other charging stations.
However, Tesla has stated that it will cooperate with national standards in the future to make corresponding adjustments, enabling interoperability between different charging facilities.
This will accelerate the promotion of new energy vehicles.
Automotive expert Zhang Zhiyong stated that the introduction of national charging standards is crucial for the development of new energy vehicles. It is understood that my country's new energy vehicle industry is developing rapidly, but problems with charging infrastructure have become a major bottleneck restricting its development. The lack of standardized charging standards leads to low utilization rates of charging piles, chaotic charging network construction, and a poorer consumer experience, hindering the further promotion and development of new energy vehicles.
"The introduction of national standards for new energy vehicle charging will eliminate consumers' concerns about charging difficulties when purchasing new energy vehicles, which will lead to another increase in sales. This is beneficial for new energy vehicle manufacturers, and for charging infrastructure manufacturers, the standardized charging piles will allow them to target their charging pile installations more effectively, reducing costs and facilitating promotion," said Zhang Zhiyong.
With the change in charging piles, different brands of new energy vehicles may also need to adjust their charging systems accordingly. Industry insiders believe that the national standard for charging piles will likely be based on the existing charging systems of most new energy vehicles, thereby reducing new R&D costs for new energy vehicle companies.
Furthermore, there are reports that the "Guidelines for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure" and the "Guiding Opinions on the Construction of Charging Infrastructure," spearheaded by the National Energy Administration, are also about to be released. Industry insiders say that these multiple favorable policies will propel the new energy vehicle market to new heights.
